Shot primarily in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, Jules Dongu Saves the World is an independent feature-length comedy about a too-big-for-his-britches anime voice actor who must win back the love and respect of his disillusioned friends and fans while saving the world from an evil anime movie director. Unfortunately, filmmakers Christian Schwier, Jeff Hillyer and Kristin Pavelski have run out of money to actually complete the film and distribute it. So the trio hosts "Save Dongu," a fundraising party that features fashions by Ivanka Ska and Aleka Phoenix, live music, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a behind-the-scenes look at the film and the presentation of an extended trailer, live comedy by the cast and crew, prize drawings and a silent auction of works by St. Pete Creative Network artists.
