#MusicMonday, Vol. IX: Dominic Miller, Hoodoo Gurus, The Roots, Yo La Tengo, Jack Johnson and more

Ever wonder what the Creative Loafing music team listens to on Mondays to get us through the day? Here’s this week’s selections.

Taylor Hanson, Shout It Out (2010)

Invigorating new power pop from the beloved brotherly trio of the 90s. Look for a review soon.

Autopsy IV The Roots, How I Got Over (2010) and Those Poor Bastards, Gospel Haunted (2010)

I am listening to the new Roots and new Those Poor Bastards albums on shuffle. Imagine going from hip hop to doom country multiple times in one day.

Jeff Dominic Miller, November (2010)

Latest release from Sting's longtime guitarist and collaborator. It's his first release using electric guitar, so the sound is really interesting. Trying to brush up for a Wednesday interview with Dominic.

Ivan Soul Asylum, Grave Dancers Union (1992)

Dusted off this gem this weekend. Dave Pirner's voice is the main reason I got into this band b-in-the-d. "Runaway Train," "Black Gold," "Somebody to Shove"… all great sing-along songs. Recommended for morning commutes on the Howard Frankland or Sunday morning trips to the beach.
