Well, the All-Star pitching match-up fans were expecting, with CC Sabathia coming to town with the New York Yankees to face David Price and the hometown Tampa Bay Rays, did not disappoint. The first five innings breezed by in an hour and 20 minutes.
Hits were few and far between, strikeouts coming from both ace lefties and base runners were a scarce commodity. Headed into the seventh inning, each team had a base hit to show for all their swinging.
Price was looking great, but not as dominant as I was expecting for this outing. Im thinking he toned himself down so as not to over-pitch and in the process took a bit of edge off his game. Not that Im complaining about his performance, mind you. Whats to complain about?
