Three big name old-school alternative acts are prepping new albums this year – one reunited the wrong way, one band reunited the right way, and one just likes to go six years between new records.
Since announcing the return of Hole, frontwoman Courtney Love played defense amid reactions ranging from skepticism to outright hostility. Nonetheless, plans move forward to release what was once her second solo album under the Hole moniker. Nobody's Daughter drops April 27. The new Hole lineup debuted on UK television last week with "Samantha," a three-chord plodder co-written by Love (right), Billy Corgan, and professional songwriter (and one-time 4 Non Blondes leader) Linda Perry. If this song is any indication, my expectations for the rest of her new material are quite low.
