Gastronauts with a sweet tooth, rejoice! The world's first cupcake bakery has started filling preorders for its founder and pastry chef Candace Nelson's new cookbook.
The Sprinkles Baking Book, debuting Oct. 25, is stuffed with 100 "secret recipes" — more than 50 Sprinkles cupcake formulas among them. In flavors like red velvet, banana, vanilla milk chocolate, crème brûlée and pineapple upside-down cake, the cupcake recipes also come with directions for baking them into cakes.
How-tos on desserts like peach and blackberry galette, cookies, pies and quick breads are also featured, alongside contributions from the bakery chain's celeb following, including Jessica Alba, Julia Roberts and Michael Strahan.
Those who order the $26 Sprinkles Baking Book, which acts as Nelson's tribute to Sprinkles (its first Tampa Bay location opened in Hyde Park Village this year), online in advance will receive two complimentary cupcakes to hold them over.
