It's 4th of July weekend, which means celebrating with friends and family … but you still need your Weekend Tune-Up. I'm more excited than normal to share these new songs with you guys. Why? There was just so many great albums that I could've easily plucked from, and I feel like these are all really strong tunes.

Miguel unleashed his new LP, Wildheart, and damn, is it a great listen. If you liked his past records, then this will satisfy you even more. Baltimore's Beach House has announced a new album, Depression Cherry, due out August 28; lead single "Sparks" comes just in time for the holiday, and oozes more of that day drunk, dream pop sound they're so well known for. LA-based rapper The Game has a new track out, and he called on Drake to throw down a few verses. Matt Pond PA has evolved into a more expansive sound, and "More No More" proves that, the synths used over the heavy hook done well. You like Radiohead, then give the new song from the I'lls a spin. Sleeper tune of the week is from Vince Staples. "Summertime" isn't the sunny party song you'd expect from the title, but rather, an ode to a girl he's chasing and trying to open up to. Staples' monotone vocal delivery is complemented by a myriad of moody keyboards.

Have a safe 4th, and play on.
