The film and television icon who filled America's entertainment canon with feel-good stories, Garry Marshall, died on July 19, 2016. He was 81. CBS reported his cause of death as pneumonia related to complications following a stroke.

If you've ever watched a movie or TV show that made you feel good from laughing, odds are you've seen Marshall's work. He wove his brand of happiness into everything he touched.

Marshall's extensive and impressive credits include creating Happy Days, Laverne & ShirleyMork & Mindy and a host of other television shows and films: 38 writing credits, 29 producing credits, 30 directing credits and 83 acting credits.
