Back again with a brand new Weekend Tune-Up, and I've got 15 new tunes for you. The most recent edition of New Music Tuesday awarded us with a gang of fresh albums and singles, mostly of the indie-rock variety. I grabbed the best of the bunch for your WTU listening pleasure.

Canadian indie rockers Yukon Blonde released their third LP, On Blonde, and it's a great listen for the summer months. Detroit hip-hop vets Slum Village dropped their eighth record, YES!. It's good, but the most noteworthy element is previously unreleased beats on nine tracks by late super-producer J-Dilla. I'll listen to anything he's touched. Beck was kind enough to drop a new single, and it's a uptempo, danceable jam called "Dreams." Foals are back promoting a single off forthcoming LP, What Went Down, due out August 28. Miguel has pretty much released the entirety of third album Wildheart by way of singles, and the most recent one, "…GoingToHell," is his strongest yet. The sleeper track for me this is week, however, is "The Deepest Night" by Purple. The Berlin-based producer just dropped a debut, Silence And Remorse, which touches on loss and love by way of his haunting production. This is a great album for fans of The Weeknd and label-mate Shlohmo. Play on.
