To celebrate Earth Day next week, the Tampa Heights Community Garden, opened in 2011, will throw a free environmental awareness-inspired gathering from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
As guests explore the food and planet-friendly goods available for purchase, others will experience gardening and aquaponics workshops, tours through the garden and music. Kids' activities will also be featured.
Located on East Frances Avenue, the garden works to improve the Tampa Heights neighborhood's options for healthy food, and complimentary event parking may be found at Lamar Street and Palm Avenue.
The afternoon's proceeds will benefit the garden's aquaponics program, which is in development.
