Putter up and pucker up — we have your next date night all figured out: a birthday party for the Tampa Theatre. The historic movie palace turns 90 and what better way to celebrate than with Tampa’s annual movie-themed beer fest? Watch the classic 90’s film Happy Gilmore on the big screen, wear those ugly golfing shorts your girlfriend never lets you wear in public and compete in a mini-golf challenge. Amateur golfer? BeerFest has one of only five locations where you can compete in the US Open Mini Golf Challenge — BYOP (bring your own putter). Local breweries and restaurants partner to put together a special selection of drinks and eats. The $70 ticket includes craft beers and treats; by 8 p.m., Franklin Street turns into a golfing free-for-all and DJ Rich Ranck will be spin tunes in the lobby.
