A former MTV reality show standout, Jacobs came back to Tampa after a stint in Los Angeles determined to create new stage opportunities in the bay area. Mission accomplished. He now runs open mics several nights a week on both sides of the bridges, and books professional showcases as well. It’s hard enough for a comedian to find time to hit several stages a week, but it’s a different level of dedication to set shows up and keep them running. Jacobs keeps things moving at each venue, and when one shuts down (which happens from time to time) he’s hard at work finding another. —Michael Murillo
