For the past 13 years, the Blueberry Patch has hosted a costume ball-styled spectacle inspired by Burning Man, the annual festival of interactive art and self-expression in the Nevada desert. For the most recent edition, masses of revelers dressed according to the theme (“Carnival of Mirrors”) hit the Patch to enjoy a full slate of music and amusements amid the magical art-junk maze. Bath Salt Zombies brought the weird with their cabaret sideshow and black light-reactive props and makeup – which transformed the musicians into lively instrument-juggling skeletons – and everything came to a climax when the giant blueberry brother was torch-lit and burned with exuberant ceremony. facebook.com/blueberrypatch. —Leilani Polk
