
Emerging artists and professionals can apply now until Sept. 9. Between then and the end of the month, recipients will be chosen and funds will be divided.
Previous recipients include: Gabriela Jaxon, Jason Hackenwerth, Jeremy Douglass and Sara Salem.
The goal of this grant is “Promoting artistic excellence, fostering public engagement, and expanding access to diverse and innovative arts experiences,” per the application form.
The Arts Alliance also celebrates Performing Arts Month with activities including live music and theater performances.
Among them is freeFall Theatre’s “Tell Me on a Sunday,” Andrew Lloyd Webber’s coming-of-age story about a young English girl who has just moved to New York. Tickets are $25 for the show premiering Sept. 5, running through Oct. 5.
Across the bridge, the New Tampa Performing Arts Center hosts its Annual Arts Festival Sept. 12-14. This event includes backstage tours, movies, and performances from choirs, dance and theater programs.
The festival’s most unique family-friendly element is its instrument petting zoo, hosted by The Florida Orchestra to help kids explore and play musical instruments.
