A lifestyle portrait photograph showing The Paper Seahorse co-founder Tona Bell. Captured in a medium-wide shot on an outdoor covered patio, creative director and entrepreneur Tona Bell smiles warmly as she sits at a dark metal table, holding a patterned green mug with both hands. She wears a floral patterned bohemian blouse in blue, purple, and cream tones, accented with layered necklaces and gold hoop earrings. Beside her on the tabletop sits a potted green fern in a galvanized metal bucket, set against the brick pillar and white porch railing of a brick home under soft, natural daylight.

The 200 block of South Tampa’s Howard Avenue has a big weekend planned for people who love putting their phones down. That’s because three businesses contained within neighboring bungalows have combined forces to form “The House of Analog.”

Located at 211 & 213 S Howard Ave., The Paper Seahorse, Noisy Crane Tea House, and Itimpi Books make up a triumvirate ready to celebrate parchment, tea leaves and stepping away from the internet connection.

A daylong grand opening happens on Saturday, giving visitors a chance to do bookish things, read, write, drink tea and look someone in the face during a conversation.

“That philosophy now expands through The House of Analog, a shared environment where complementary businesses and experiences invite visitors to linger rather than rush, participate rather than scroll, and engage with objects, ideas, and one another—more intentionally,” organizers wrote in a press release.

The opening is a big win for Paper Seahorse owners Tona (pictured) and Randy Bell, who took a chance on the block 12 years ago.

Festivities include five hours of tea tastings with Noisy Crane founder KC Cavanaugh, plus watercolor, handwriting, crafts and typewriter activities, along with literary programming from Itimpi Books, the newest business to open at the address.
