The Tampa Bay Lightning will celebrate its Stanley Cup victory with a boat parade and fan rally this coming Wednesday, Sept. 30.
In collaboration with the City of Tampa, the team will travel via boat, starting at Davis Islands, up the Hillsborough River beginning at 5 p.m., with fans encouraged to gather along the City of Tampa Riverwalk all the way to Rick's On the River.
After the parade, a fan rally will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium, with doors opening at 6:30. Tickets are required for entry, but are available at no cost at ticketmaster.org.
Groups between one and six people will be allowed to gather in pods in Raymond James Stadium, and social distancing will be enforced. Fans are also encouraged to physically distance and wear face masks during the boat parade.
The team will arrive back in Tampa today at 5 p.m. after being in the NHL’s “bubble” in Canada since July 26.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor expressed her delight in seeing the Lightning bring the cup back to the city.
“Despite every challenge this past year, Tampa continues to ensure that our comeback is even greater than any setback,” she said in a press release.
This is the Lightning’s second time winning the Stanley Cup, after first coming out victorious in 2004.
