Here’s a list of venues with special doin’s for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1.
1. The Hideaway, 2454 McMullen Booth, Clearwater: Co-sponsored by Southern Steer Butcher and Anytime Fitness, the tailgate party starting at 4 p.m. will feature free food throughout the day and night. It’s become a Patriots place for watch parties, so be prepared for inflated enthusiasm.
2. Maloney’s Irish Pub, W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa: Opened eight months ago, Maloney’s — which has a downtown Tampa and Westchase location — has helped turn downtown Tampa into some semblance of a nightlife spot what with the traditional Irish pub feel and the live music each weekend. This football season, it’s also turned into a Seahawks watch party location. For Super Bowl Sunday, expect the same; no cover.
3, Lee Roy Selmon’s (throughout Tampa Bay) — The sports restaurant will offer unlimited portions of food and drink for $63 at all area locations. They will also be giving away prizes throughout the night like rounds of golf to area courses, a suite at Bright House Stadium for Clearwater Threshers games, and a foosball table. Space is limited so reserve your seat as soon as possible.
4. Ale House (throughout Tampa Bay) — at all area Miller’s Ale House restaurants. $25 per person all-you-can-eat buffet (carving station, snow crab legs, wings & more) starts at 5 p.m.
5. Duckys, 1719 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa — boutique sports lounge owned by Evan Longoria offers wall to wall flat screen televisions including two 100-inch high-def projection screens. Also, features four lanes of mini bowling. $15 buckets of Bud/Bud Light, other food and drink specials on game day. Reservations advised; no cover.
6. Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill, 7 Rockaway St., Clearwater — Big 50-foot screen set up on the beach; enjoy the game and the sunset all wrapped in one; no cover.
7. Edwards Havana Nights, 15407 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa — specials on cigars, shots, buckets of beer; 2 for 1 domestic drafts all day; Jim Beam flights (standard, Fire, Honey, Devil’s Cut — $25 for 1 ounce pour of each; Jim Beam drinks — $7 for any style; half off on select bottles of wine; raffle and door prizes throughout the game; no cover.
8. Salty’s Gulfport, 5413 Shore Blvd., Gulfport — two outdoor televisions and jumbo screens on patio; 12 flat screens inside; drink and food specials including smoked wings, chicken and ribs; no cover.
9. Peabody’s Billiards, & Games 15333 Amberly Dr., Tampa — four liquor bars, 11 pool tables, 13 electronic dartboards, foosball, over 70 flat screen televisions, state-of-the-art 10-foot screen, normal Sunday drink and food specials; no cover.
10. Topgolf Tampa, 103690 Palm River Road, Tampa — over 100 bays of golfing entertainment, free wi-fi, three levels of full service bars including rooftop terrace, 200-plus HDTVs, Sunday Funday with Bloody Mary bar and brunch until 2 p.m. The sound will be turned up throughout the game; no cover.
11. Ferg’s Sports Bar &; Grill, 1320 Central Ave., St. Petersburg — $6 domestic pitchers; $12 bucket of domestic bottles; giveaways throughout the game; huge takeout wing and food specials, order must be placed by Friday at 3 p.m.; no cover
12. CJ’s On The Island, 115 107th Ave., Treasure Island — Chili cook-off contest at halftime, free entry, patrons taste and vote, $100 for first place winner, $50 for second, $25 for third; $10 dollar buckets; shot specials; eight flat screens and two big high-def projection screens; DJ Stickem and T-Love after the game, no cover.
13. Macdinton’s Irish Pub, 405 South Howard Ave., Tampa — the Gaspa-Grilla event will feature a $20 open bar and grill from 4-6 p.m.; open bar includes all drafts, wells, house wine, Bacardi, Sailor Jerry’s, and Three Olives; in addition, there will be a grill on the outdoor patio section with all you can eat variety of grilled food selections; live music leading up to the game by Matt Bellina.
