Wonderland: It's not just for Alice anymore

Friday's event is an encore of last year's popular "Wonderland Extravaganza". Johnna's Mad Hatter crew includes Barkin HeARTS Co-Founder and make up artist Hendrickje Ewen, assistant make up artist Jill Leonti and artist and designer Lori Sampson. Everyone from lighting people to fire eaters are donating their time and services gratis.

The bash is for one night only and features a costume, fashion and art show. The performances last all night long and include interactive exhibits, artistic installations, food and drinks. Music will be pumped out on the waterfront where you can dance the night away. You just might find your "muchness," and for a few hours, escape reality for a great cause.

Fri., April 29, 8 p.m.-2 a.m. at The Heights Waterfront, Trolley B Warehouse, 1910 N. Ola Avenue Tampa. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door; purchase online at wonderland2011.eventbrite.com. Enter discount code "CL" for a $5 discount.

If all goes as planned, after this Friday night's Return to Wonderland event, dogs will be wagging their tails all around Tampa.

"Return to Wonderland" is the vision of Barkin HeARTS Co-Founder Johnna Guzman whose goal is to bring creative events to the Tampa area to raise money for the SPCA Tampa Bay. The inspiration for Barkin HeARTS came during Johnna's "quarter life crises" and the passing of Rozzie, a four-legged friend with a heart defect that Johnna had rescued from a puppy mill.
