Whether we’re ready or not, many Florida beaches have now reopened to the public, and many have increased public safety rules and precautions. Here are a few nearby sandy spots in Pinellas, Sarasota, Hernando, Manatee, and Hillsborough counties that are currently ready for beachgoers, some with limited amenities and restrictions.
If you’re headed to a beach in Pinellas County, be sure to check the county’s realtime dashboard to see if it’s already at capacity.
Coquina Beach
Manatee County
Coquina beach is currently open, but social distancing guidelines remain in place. Parking was recently increased to its full 400 spot capacity and the two hour limit has been revoked. Beach concessions remain closed, but may open soon as Florida moves into further reopening stages. Dogs unfortunately, are still prohibited on Coquina Beach.

Sarasota County
Siesta Key, named the No.1 beach in the U.S. by Tripadvisor, is open, but beachgoers must remain socially distant and keep groups below 10. Parking lots and restrooms, which undergo frequent cleanings, are open as well. Playgrounds, concessions and picnic shelters are closed and will remain so until phase three of reopening begins. In addition, people are currently permitted to bring coolers, chairs and canopies to the popular beach, but not dogs, unfortunately.

Hillsborough County
Ben T Davis Beach is open, while social distancing six-feet-apart guidelines must be followed. Leashed dogs are permitted on the beach and picnic tables are open. Adjacent to the beach is the Courtney Campbell Trail, a four-mile-long biking trail and pedestrian walkway.

Pinellas County
Pass-A-Grille Beach is open to the public and adhering to there are zero social distancing guidelines. Parking along Pass-A-Grille Way will be closed, but the west side of Gulf Way and Upham Beach have open parking. Many nearby restaurants are open, including The Paradise Grille and The Hurricane Seafood Restaurant.

Pinellas County
Fort DeSoto State Park is open for beach access, beach parking, beach chair and umbrella rentals, equipment rentals and food concessions. No social distancing rules are in place and picnic shelters and playgrounds are open for public use, but the Fort DeSoto Fishing pier is accessible during regular park hours. Beach parking is open for $5 for the day and leashed dogs are allowed on the beach.

Hillsborough County
Cypress Point Beach is open to the public and is encouraging social distancing. The beach offers a jogging trail, a disc golf course and a parking lot, while the sand volleyball court and playground are closed.

Manatee County
Bradenton Beach is open but social distancing guidelines remain in place. Public restrooms in addition parking, at full capacity, are available to beachgoers. Local restaurants, like the Blue Marlin, are open and feature live music and patio space.

Sarasota County
Casey Key’s North Jetty and Nokomis beaches are open to the public with social distancing guidelines in place. Parking lots and restrooms are available to beachgoers of both . Nokomis Beach’s Shark Tooth Concessions is open for business as well as North Jetty’s Tap and Grill Concessions.

Pinellas County
Gulfport Beach is open; social distancing are no longer enforced. Public restrooms and parking nearby are open. The beach is surrounded by shops and restaurants, including Circles Waterfront Restaurant.

Sarasota County
Lido Key reopened on Tuesday with social distancing measures in place. Beachgoers are to comply with CDC recommendations such as 6-feet social distancing and keeping groups below 10. Lido Beach features nearby restaurants such as Cha Cha Coconuts and Columbia Restaurants that are currently open as well.

Hernando County
Pine Island is open to the public but social distancing precautions remain in place. Restrooms, $5 parking and the on-beach restaurant, Willy’s Tropical Breeze Cafe, are open as well.

Manasota Key is open to beachgoers with precautions like maintaining social distancing and keeping groups below 10 people in place. Restrooms are open for use and nearby restaurants like White Elephant Pub allow for waterside dining as well as karaoke and live music.

While Longboat Key is open to the public with 6-feet social distancing regulations in place, public beach parking and nearby Bayfront Park remain closed. There are no bathrooms or concessions on the beach, and there are many prohibitions like no alcohol and no pets. Nearby restaurants like Dry Dock Waterfront Grill are open for an authentic on-the-water dining experience.

Manatee County Beach Park is open to the public, but social distancing guidelines enforced by police officers are still in place. Restrooms, showers, changing cabanas are open for sunbathers and beachgoers alike. The Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe is open and recently changed its hours to include breakfast.

Redington Shores beach is open to the public. Social distancing rules are not being enforced. This beach is often home to dolphin sightings, and is near waterfront restaurants, such as The Conch Republic Grill and Mangos Restaurant & Tiki Bar.

Hernando County
Roger’s Park is open but adherence to CDC guidelines regarding social distancing is required. Organized activities such as games, practices, or scrimmages are not allowed in the park. Free parking is available as well as on-site bathrooms. Nearby local favorite, Upper Deck, is open for kayak rentals and waterfront dining.

Picnic Island Beach is open to the public and is enforcing six-foot social distancing. A separate dog beach area is offered nearby, as well as a disc golf course and picnic tables. However, the sand volleyball court and playground are closed.

Pinellas County
Clearwater Beach is open to the public for exercising, walking and sitting. Sand volleyball courts and playgrounds are open, and all parking lots remain open. Coolers, blankets and personal chairs are permitted. Beach ambassadors will be stationed on the beach to aid visitors and provide hand sanitizer.

Pinellas County
Honeymoon Island State Park is open for daytime use from 8 a.m. to sunset. The beach is open only for active recreation such as jogging, walking, swimming and fishing. Restroom and trash cans are available, however, all other park amenities are closed. Visitors must follow six-feet social distancing guidelines and can park on-site for $8 per vehicle.

Indian Rocks Beach is open and beachgoers. There are 80 parking spots available (along with a parking fee) and additional public parking at the West Side of Gulf Boulevard, as well as restrooms for public use.

Hillsborough County
Davis Islands Beach is open to the public. One of the closer beaches to Downtown Tampa, Davis Islands Beach’s visitors have the restaurants and shops of Downtown to retreat to after a day by the water. Leashed dogs are permitted on the nearby dog park and dog beach, as well.

Manatee County
Anna Maria Bayfront Park is open to the public, but beachgoers must adhere to strict social distancing guidelines, like 6-feet distance, enforced by patrolling officers and lifeguards. Restrooms, showers and free parking are amenities that reopened with the park. Unfortunately, dogs remain prohibited from the beach.
