Well, here it is. The first weekend with President Donald Trump. I’m not really sure what that means, but if the sky doesn’t darken before some dudes on horses show up, we should take that as a good sign. I’m not planning for the apocalypse — honestly, I'm simply worn out from trepidation and anger — so I’ll spend the weekend doing fun things, but, well, you do you.

If you want to express outrage, well, there are ways to do that: There’s the Women’s March St. Pete at Demen’s Landing, Dawn of the Donald at the Studio @620, and plenty of bars where no doubt someone will be ready to get into a fight over healthcare.

Not interested? That’s perfectly fine; check out Silent Yoga at The Body Electric or free yoga at the Sundial. Pink Martini plays at the Straz and you can party under the lights at Pass-a-Grille. Tempus Projects opens its new exhibit You Drain Me, and St. Pete Preservation has two walking tours — one at Mirror Lake and one in Gulfport, both led by yours truly.

Sunday I plan on reading all day; if I didn’t have stacks of books waiting for me, I’d head to the Blind Tiger for its book sale Saturday. I may hop out for brunch, because that’s what I do, and I’m still in love with Craft Kafe (proof that all things gluten free don’t taste like sadness). But I also may check out Besito's brunch, because, yeah, they're a chain but they make these goat cheese and mushroom empanada things that will make you see Jesus.

Monday morning it’s back to reality and checking out the presidential tweets. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride, loafers, so get in, hang on, and we’ll get through the next 208 weekends together.
