Adventures in Weekending: Rays watch parties, panang duck with coconut meat and brunch

The Pandora's Box of otter porn.

Some days you get a lot of stuff done at work. Other days the dude who writes Sh*t Happened tells you not to Google "otter porn" and, well, let me ask you this, Loafers: How many of you leapt away from this page 30 minutes ago to Google "otter porn" and are just now returning to finish reading this sentence?

Yeah, that's about what I thought.

If you resisted, well, rest assured, "otter porn" is not as cuddly as it sounds. I mean, there's definitely some closeness happening, but, um, cuddly? I'll leave that to the bears.

Hey, wait... where are you going? We're trying to have a weekend here, people. You can wait a few minutes to Google "otter and bears"! We have things to do — like weekending! Herewith, 10 things we should all do before that Monday morning alarm gets thrown across the room in a fit of sleepy rage:

Jeanne Robertson at the Cap in Clearwater. Hey, it's sold out, but my mom and dad have tickets, so how hard can it be for you to find some?

You bring the "watch" and Green Bench brings the "party." It's why they call it a Rays watch party, y'all.

Head to Treehoppers to test your aerial adventure skills. Meaghan Habuda told you to do this back in May; why haven't you tried it yet?

Wine Spectator identified a bunch of local restaurants with good wine. Are they right? I don't know, but it's up to you to find out. For research purposes, people.

Thai Prime has panang duck with coconut meat. I've died and gone to poultry heaven...

Last week I tried to convince you to take a road trip up to Cross Creek for some sour orange pie, but did you do it? No, you did not. Well, some of you did. Don't feel like driving? Good news — Pia Goff, the woman who made the pie I brought on Studio 10, has added it to the specials menu at Pia's Trattoria for the next two weeks.

Hey, I laughed my ass off at Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Not so much with The Secret Life of Pets, but your mileage may vary.

Hamburger Mary's coming to the 'Burg makes me happy, but they ain't here yet, so until then, it's Tampa or Palm Harbor for me. And for all of you not-quite-a-certain-age-people-who-still-like-to-brunch-but-won't-admit-it. And, of course, women of a certain age (like me) are ever-vigilant for the perfect brunch spot. Judge me if you want, but you know you want it, too. Don't fight it.
