On Friday night, Nan Colton plays Agatha Christie in Gulfport.

Nan Colton’s something of a local legend when it comes to portraying strong women throughout our history.

She’s appeared across Tampa Bay as Catherine the Great, Georgia O’Keeffe and Miep Gies. On Friday, Feb. 22, she’ll appear as Agatha Christie, the beloved murder writer whose work keeps getting read.

Think of the evening as curling up with a good book, except you don’t have to read anything: There’s a bar in the lobby, and you’re helping raise funds for the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center.

Catherine Hickman Theater, 5500 Shore Blvd. S., Gulfport | Feb. 22: 7-9 p.m. | $20, advance at the Gulfport Beach Bazaar; $25, door |
