What was once considered a grueling eight-hour drive is now reduced to about an hour-long flight.

This morning, Breeze Airways announced new nonstop flights from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Key West International Airport (EYW) beginning June 12.

The flight will be offered four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and start at $39.

“Key West becomes Breeze’s 25th nonstop destination served from Tampa International,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO in a statement. “And it’s our 70th destination nationally. With new flights to Key West and more service to Pensacola, Tampa continues to grow as one of our biggest bases.”

Breeze isn’t the only local airline offering quick and easy flights to the Keys. Over at  the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airpot (PIE), Allegiant Air offers near daily flights to Key West, and they also start at $39.
