Busch Gardens Tampa Bay's new kangaroo habitat Kangaloom has hopped back to life, offering guests an opportunity to observe and hand-feed kangaroos, wallabies and a wallaroo.

The habitat, which closed for a much-need facelift, officially reopened yesterday in the Bird Gardens area of the park.

The marsupials’ new digs offer guests an even closer look at the animals from down under. The recently transformed exhibit is home to 29 kangaroos, eight wallabies and one wallaroo, which all have plenty of room to bounce around, navigating between macropods throughout the habitat via “kangaroo highway.”

While guests under five years old can't enter the area, they can now check out the habitat through the newly installed observation window.

For a closer look, the park also offers an Australia Insider Tour. This 30-minute tour is guided by expert Animal Care Specialists to educate guests about the different species found at Kangaloom. Guests also have an opportunity to interact with the kangaroos and wallabies and get some great photos.

The new and improved Kangaloom is just one part of a suite of new updates to the park.

The Serengeti Flyer and the Sky Ride have both opened recently, and Phoenix Rising, a new family-friendly coaster is in the works.
