The power is yours, Planeteers: the power to watch the first season of Captain Planet on DVD! After premiering almost 20 years ago, the eco-themed kid's show — that was also the longest running cartoon of the '90s — will be released on DVD for your home viewing pleasure just in time for Earth Day (April 22nd).

Now you (and your kids) can re-learn all of those great environmental lessons Captain Planet, Gaia and his Planeteer pals taught when they fought the destructive eco-villains.

MNN writes, "According to the release, the four-DVD box set naturally boasts a specially designed eco-friendly packaging made of 100 percent recycled paper. (As if our blue superhero would settle for anything less.)"

Did you know that Captain Planet season one had some famous voices behind some of the characters? Meg Ryan, Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Sheen, Jeff Goldblum, LeVar Burton and Sting all made guest voice appearances in the inaugural season.
