Catch My Disease: viral videos of the week (7.23.10)

I have no idea where this video came from, but I can't stop watching it. There's something hypnotic about the over-Photoshopped image of a cow replicated over and over again to the beat of European techno-pop. It kind of reminds me of the badgers video that was getting passed around a few years ago.

It's hard to believe that this is one of the only spoofs of the famous Old Spice commercials to go viral. I wish I knew more about this Isaiah Mustafa impersonator, but I don't have much else to tell you beyond how awesome he is. Maybe there will be a real New Spice and it won't smell like my brother.

I'm not really sure what's up with this, because it doesn't look like a UFO to me. It kind of looks like someone playing with Photoshop brushes, but that's just me. I can't believe that this shut down the airport for an entire day. It's not like anybody saw Marvin the Martian, it was just a blob in the sky.

I listen to the "Song a Day" almost every day. I stumbled upon (using stumbleupon) this guy about a year ago, but I've never seen any of his videos go viral like this one has. I'm not sure if the Antenna song is my favorite of his videos, but I would probably put it in my top 5.

Because it was released on a Thursday, Team Starkid's A Very Potter Sequel didn't quite make the cut for today's germ spreading. Make sure you check it out and what I have to say about it. I'm also pleased to congratulate you guys on helping the video of a Tampa reporter crushing a child to go viral. When I checked on it today, it was on the "most popular" page for today.

Hello out there in internet land. I've been super busy lately, and so have some of my favorite youtubers. Because of all of the amazing activity this week, I actually had trouble picking just five fresh ones to show you. But here they are, my five favorite videos that are going viral.

  • Obama Bumper Sticker Removal Kit - Availableb at BSRemoval.com - feat. Brad Stine - AmericanTees

The first time I watched this one, I was pretty sure that it was a bit of Tea Party propaganda or something of the sort, but then I did a little bit of stalking research. American Tees is an organization that provides somewhat balanced teasing of political goings on. Before you ask, this is a real product that they were selling, but unfortunately for you Prius-driving readers out there, it's completely sold out.

The countdown continues after the break:
