Based on the bestselling 2005 YA novel by Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who discovers he’s actually the result of a tryst between his mother and the Greek god Poseidon, and all the crazy shit that happens after somebody finds out he’s the result of a tryst between his mother and the Greek god Poseidon.
In song, no less!
The hugely popular book and somewhat less popular 2010 movie are rendered in fine Broadway-style at the Straz, and it should be good, catchy fun for the entire family.
Runs through July 14.
Ticket prices start at $25, and can be snagged at strazcenter.org.
