While some folks prepare for a full weekend of Cinco de Mayo-themed partying, perhaps others are gearing up for Tampa Theatre’s annual celebration of Star Wars Day, which happens on May 4 each year.

Lovers of this 80’s film franchise have chances to witness “Empire Strikes Back” and “A New Hope” on the big screen on Thursday, May 4 and Monday, May 8 (plus, “Return of the Jedi” on May 15.)

As a part of its Summer Classics film series last summer, the historic Tampa theater lifted its curtain on that prized golden text crawl for the very first time, and honors the original Star Wars trilogy for this year’s celebration.

Break out those Disney-certified lightsabers and nerd out with fellow Tampa Bay Star Wars fans. Tickets to these screenings cost $7 for Tampa Theatre members and $10 for non-members.
