The Tampa Bay Lightning had fallen behind the Pittsburgh Penguins by two goals on Wednesday night at the St. Pete Times Forum, but the Bolts didn't come up short this time around like they did against Nashville; Marty St. Louis made sure of it, as they defeated the Penguins by the final score of 5-3.

The Lightning got off to a quick start when forward Dana Tyrell snuck a rebound past Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, giving the Lightning an early lead. Tampa Bay got the chance to extend the lead later in the first when Pascal Dupuis was assessed a holding penalty. The power play was anything but pretty; the Penguins scored two goals shorthanded, the first by Craig Adams, and the second by Matt Cooke, giving Pittsburgh a 2-1 lead. Dupuis extended the lead when he scored his second goal of the year at the 12:15 mark. The Lightning pulled within one at 16:40 of the first when Teddy Purcell beat Fleury.
