If you were planning on submitting an entry to Creative Loafing's Writing Contest this year, you'd better turn on the creative juices: The deadline for submissions is Thursday, Feb. 23, at 5 p.m.

You'll find more info at, or go directly to the entry form.

The theme is orange, and as always you can take the theme in any direction you like. Two of Tampa Bay's best writers — Peter Meinke and Gloria Muñoz — will choose the winners of the judge's prizes, and readers will get to vote on their favorite story and poem at from Feb. 24-March 3. Judges' and readers' winners will be announced at a public reading at on Wednesday, March 15, and published in CL's Fiction Issue on March 16.

We promise not to ask, "Orange you glad?" when we inform the winners.
