Do It Today: Dali's sur-really freaky film, Un Chien Andalou, plus a Bachelor Auction and Summer with Style

Ladies (and probably plenty of dudes, too) should check out tonight's Bachelor Auction, where local eligibles like Eric (a 23-year-old engineer who likes triathlons), Adrian (an Abercrombie model who plays golf and basketball), and Michael (a SCUBA instructor and photographer who loves to travel) are yours for the dating. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. 7-10 p.m. Thurs., May 6, Blue Martini, 2223 N. Westshore Blvd., Tampa, bachelorauction.wordpress.com.

Whether it's your secret desire to meet Heather Van Nest and Reginald Roundtree of 10 Connects, if you're tuning in for new summer fashions, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, or if you just want to help out by donating to the Children's Cancer Center -- Tampa Bay Metro's Summer With Style got it all. tampabaymetro.com. Thurs., May 6, 6-8:30 p.m., Neiman Marcus, International Plaza, Tampa, $50.

If your tastes are more avant-garde than apple pie, check out next week's installations in the Dali and Beyond Film Series: Sharing Salvador, Le Pink Grapefruit and Dalí and Buñuel's Un Chien Andalou — the surreally freaktastic montage of shocking images like a close-up of a woman's eye being sliced by a razor (pictured), rotting animals, ants swarming around an open wound in a man's palm, and plenty of gratuitous slayings. Grapefruit is a documentary visit with the artist in his hometown of Figueres, Spain, just as the Teatro Museu Dalí opens. 6 p.m. Thurs., May 6, Salvador Dali Museum, 1000 Third St. S., St. Petersburg, $5 admission after 5 p.m., salvadordalimuseum.org.
