Somehow, acrobatics are always enthralling. No matter how many times we've seen the human pretzels of Le Grand Cirque jump through hoops (or become hoops themselves), or contort into impossible shapes, or perform aerial feats with, as they say, the greatest of ease — it's always mesmerizing. Le Grand Cirque troupe's choreography is rooted in the traditions of Russia, China and Eastern Europe, and promises to deliver a spellbinding show. Mon., Feb. 15, 7 p.m., Tues., Feb. 16, 1 p.m., Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, $38-$53.

Paul Lisicky (pictured), author of the gay coming-of-age story, Lawnboy, and Famous Builder drops some book-writing knowledge on Tampa Bay as the guest host in this month's installment of the Writers at the U series. Visit ut.edu for more info. Mon., Feb. 15, 8 p.m., University of Tampa, Tampa, free.
