Do This: Brokenmold's sixth annual Holiday Comedy Explosion

Four local high area comics hit the New World Brewery stage tonight

Brokenmold Entertainment presents its sixth annual Holiday Comedy Explosion, a showcase of the Bay area’s first-class laugh-makers ring-led by CL’s “Best Local Stand-Up Comic” winner for 2015 – and recognized as Florida's Funniest Comedian in 2014 – J.B. Ball. His humor ranges from observations on news and culture (like his bit on a European pop star who claimed to smoke 30 joints a day – “Am I the only one who thinks he didn’t need rehab, he needs better weed?”), to personal anecdotes about dating, his barbershop experiences, and even an argument he had with a friend about Captain America becoming a black dude. Another highlight comes in Matt Fernandez, who’s been tapped by the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Kimmel and Funny Or Die. Also performing on this night: Law Smith, Mona Smith and Robby Slowik. All proceeds benefit Big Cat Rescue. Fri., Dec. 18, 8 p.m., New World Brewery, 1313 E. 8th Ave., Ybor City, $10 suggested donation.
