It's a rather eventful Thursday. For starters, if you’ve ever been inside one of the restaurants, shops or nightclubs of Ybor and wondered about the comings of goings of folks in those same spaces during the district's cigar-making heyday, then sign up to attend the informative and fun Buildings Alive! tour. The architecture hop on March 1 includes a scavenger hunt and prizes, so you can have fun while you learn historic trivia. Tours and clues on the hunt reveal unique details about the buildings’ history, plus how they’re being preserved, restored and repurposed. Don’t worry about walking or driving to each place. Just hop on the Jolly Trolley, which stops at Centro Asturiano, Cuban Club, Ybor Square, Don Vicente de Inn, Stantec, Swope Rodante, Ybor City Museum State Park, the 19th Century Casitas, the Italian Club and HCC Child Development Center. Plus there will be food and drinks at every stop. Also tonight: The kickoff to the colorful and mischievous cavalcade of nekkid reverie known as Nude Nite, which has been touted as the biggest nudity-centric art show in the U.S. The event this year takes its inspiration from the 1920s era traveling carnivals and the whimsical, painted and costumed (and not-so-costumed) characters associated with them. Tampa’s Darkest Secret Revealed: Human Trafficking in Tampa Bay: As part of their on-going Tampa Bay Documentary Series, Cigar City Magazine and The Buzz present two documentaries: Human Trafficking in Tampa Bay, an award winning PSA/documentary that unveils the startling truth that Tampa Bay is a hotbed for human trafficking, and Redefining Refuge: Behind The Mask, about an organization that is dedicated to fighting for women and children who have been victims of the depraved injustice of sexual abuse, with a prevailing emphasis on the abolition of the domestic sex trafficking of minors.
