The St. Petersburg Opera is celebrating National Opera Week in a big way with the opening of its Opera Central hall in the Grand Central District. Historic Kenwood's bigger and better BungalowFest begins today too.
This year’s two-day BungalowFest offers an evening luminary tour and street party 7-11 p.m. tonight. Expect entertainment, food, open bar and live music at many of the homes.
At tonight's event a lighted path will guide attendees to an evening bash with music and food from eight local restaurants — The Birchwood, Cappy's Pizza, California Café, The Burg Bar and Grill, Urban BBQ, Kalamazoo Olive Oil Company, Fresh & Go Grill and The Queenshead — and three open bars featuring beers from the new GreenBench Brewery and a signature drink called The Kenwood, as well as wine and liquor.
Opera Central will also be a stop on the Historic Kenwood BungalowFest homes tour tomorrow, Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Before that, you can see a performance by the St. Petersburg Opera’s Resident Artists Scenes Program tonight at the new Opera Central. The grand opening special concert includes a gala evening of opera scenes, performed by Todd Donovan, Michelle Rego, Rim Karnavicius and Aleksandra Ritums.
