Flights of Angels tells stories with theatrical excerpts, testimonial, music and even some comedic moments. A discussion will follow the show.

Coordinated by local theatrical award-winner Roxanne Fay (pictured, right), the performance lineup includes Bonnie Agan, Becca McCoy, Natalie Symons, Heather Jones, Rick Stutzel and Betty Jane Parks, who will perform selections from plays by local writers (Heather Jones, Natalie Symons and Fay) as well as established plays (The Year Of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, As Is by William M. Hoffman and The Shadow Box by Michael Cristofer.

Says Fay: “These snippets of drama are woven through the text of a small booklet I was given by Suncoast Hospice when they came to care for my dad, Larry, as he lived his final days. The booklet describes some of what is happening to the person who is dying — physically, emotionally, spiritually — and the theatre pieces help illustrate those things that are happening as well as exploring the loss, the grief, and finally, the hope felt by those who witness loved ones die.”

The show is a benefit for Suncoast Hospice, who cared for Fay’s dad as well as for family of some of the show’s other cast members.” Tues., Aug. 25, 7 p.m. The Studio@620, 620 First Ave. S., St Petersburg. 727-895-6620. thestudioat620.org/events/flights-of-angels.
