Do This: Party Under the Sea and Sky at the Pier Aquarium on Sat., April 9

This April, people around the world will gather to celebrate the 50th anniversary of manned spaceflight. Yuri Gagarin was only 27 years old when he orbited around the entire earth in 108 minutes.

The Pier Aquarium in St. Petersburg has joined this international celebration as the 164th registered participant in "Yuri's Night."

The theme of the party is "Under Water and Outer Space". The aquarium is being opened after hours especially for this event.

The "Under Water" portion will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Sat. April 9. Enjoy refreshments and try your hand at Outer Space trivia and water bingo for families at 9 p.m. There will also be a costume contest at 9:30 p.m.

At 10 p.m. the party moves to Cha Cha Coconuts on the roof for the "Outer Space" portion. There will be special Yuri's Night happy hour food and drink specials, as well as stargazing and dancing.

Adults who purchase a wristband before 11 p.m. get access to the whole party for just five bucks; kids under 12 are free! Aquarium members are also free with membership card.

An RSVP is not required, but those who wish to may do so here.
