Loverboy told us everybody's workin' for the weekend. Meh. Some of us work all week so you can have a great weekend. Which is why, when you see us testing the quality of the gin at that bar on Tuesday afternoon, we can claim "research" and demand gratitude.

So, Friday night, you can tear through some Indian food at Udipi (if it's good enough for our epicurean investigator, it's good enough for you, right?) and then head to Jobsite's intimate space to see Lebensraum, or you can go inland after an early dinner and check out pop art at the opening reception for Hidden Agenda: The Conceptual Pop Art of Mark Mitchell. Or, you could go south — we hear it's warmer there, although you're not going far so it's likely not warmer by much — and watch 2001: A Space Odyssey at the South Florida Museum.
After it's all done, though, you'll want a quiet place to land closer to home. Grab some late-night grub — it doesn't matter where you live, because our intrepid food editor has a list of late night nosh nooks (usually we're at Bodega or something with pizza, but your mileage may vary).
And then Saturday: The humpday of the weekend. Make it last, people. Make. It. Last. For an adventure, why not see if Tampa Bay drivers have sorted out that I-275 lane change thing yet. (Spoiler alert: They have not. The Gandy is your friend.) If you live in Tampa, head west to the 'Burg and start Saturday with Disney and Dali at, of course, the Dali in St. Petersburg. If you live in the 'Burg, well, time to head east to Veg Out. Why?
Well, to start, Veg Out will have local veg-friendly vendors, vegan and vegetarian bites, healthy living tips from guest speakers, beginners' yoga workshops, and beer. Beer, people. True story: It's healthy if you drink it with a side of veggies.
Hey, let's go see a movie. If you like to sleep, you should NOT see The Boy, but if you're into scary weird movies, well, Bob's your uncle. Bonus: Regal Cinemas now sells Twizzlers instead of those imitation things no one likes, so really, even if The Boy doesn't do it for you, go see a movie. Sisters is scary in a whole other way.
Ease into Sunday gently. Here's how: The Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival has seafood and music from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Another option? Rich Entel's Cardboard Menagerie at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
By the end of the weekend, the temps will be in the forties. Nothing worth doing in that weather, so we may as well head back to work. But hey, that was fun. Who wants to go again?
