Do This: Your weekend, ready to go

Friday, you know how to charm a girl.

Hello, Friday. What's a nice day like you doing in a week like this? If we spend the night together, do you promise to call me in the morning?

Enough with the sweet talk, Friday. Days like you only come to a place like this for one thing. Let's get to it. Where do we start?

Ah, dinner. That's right. You should always buy a gal dinner, Friday. Why not start off the weekend with almost 2600 lemons at Grey Salt? CL food critic Jon Palmer Claridge gave it four stars in his review just before Christmas, and not just for the bright yellow decor — rumor has it they make a mean duck breast. After that, head to Tampa Rep to see True West, a Sam Shepard comedy/drama where the actors switch roles at each performance.

Saturday presents you with a host of options — head to the Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon at the MFA, where you can help make sure all the awesome women in the world have a place in the largest user-edited encyclopedia ever. When you're done, take a stroll and hit Red Mesa Cantina for brunch or if you prefer, a shrimp-and-feta burrito topped with some sort of white sauce that tastes like it can't be good for you (but we're certain that it is.)

After that, hope over to the Tampa Bay History Center to check out their nifty collection of Florida kitsch-meets-art: Bringing Home the Sunshine (for more information, pick up the Jan. 14 Springs Arts Preview of CL!), then grab a pre-show drink on your way over to Clearwater — check out Capitol Beer House before you go to the Capitol Theater to see Jane Lynch. Don't have tickets yet? There's a few left. Trust us: You will never regret not deciding not to go.

If the Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon left you pondering why we don't study more great women writers, check out Reading Women: Rebecca Solnit in Conversation with Carrie Schneider at the MFA Sunday afternoon. After that, take your pup for a walk (remember that New Year's resolution to stay in shape and get outside more?) to the new, dog-friendly Pinellas Ale Works (remember your resolution to drink more beer?) before you head over to You Off Work Tomorrow? at the Tampa Improv (you are, aren't you?).

Oh, Friday... it's been a wild ride. Maybe I'll see you 'round these parts again real soon.
