Do This: Documentary and discussion on gun safety

Jennie got a gun. Because, apparently, the numbers make sense.

Free. 6 p.m., freeFall Theatre, 6099 Central Ave. St. Pete.

Also showing June 2

Every day 80 Americans die from gun violence. The Florida premiere of Making a Killing: Guns, Greed & the NRA delves into the billions made from guns (hey, maybe that’s why they’re so poorly regulated, eh?) and how people’s lives have been forever —and, of course, tragically — altered by gun violence. The film has personal stories of those whose tragedies stemmed from unintentional shootings, domestic violence, suicides, mass shootings and weapons trafficking. The documentary makers refer to this as a “profit-driven crisis.” A panel discussion with St Pete Councilperson Lisa Wheeler Brown and Dr. David Berman, Pediatrician & Leader of Doctors for American Gun Safety, follows.
