HBO's Boardwalk Empire looks like a certified hit after 7 million viewers tuned in for last weekend's premiere. The numbers were so good that HBO, in search of it's next Sopranos-sized hit, has already ordered a second season despite having only airing the first episode.

A sprawling exterior set of the Atlantic City boardwalk was constructed expressly for Empire. The surprise is that the set was in Brooklyn, an extension of the renowned Coney Island boardwalk. My man Gox (who you may remember snapped these shots of Gerard Butler on the set of the Jennifer Aniston mess The Bounty Hunter) managed to sweet-talk his way past security and snap these behind-the-scenes shots of the production in action.
