First Night St. Pete rings in its 29th Anniversary Celebration on New Years Eve at several locations throughout St. Petersburg.
A press release says the New Year's Eve celebration kicks off at the St. Pete Pier for the First KIDS Celebration featuring science, art, magic, literature, sea creature touch tanks and crafts. Guests and children alike can enjoy family-friendly fun under the Echelman sculpture for a Mad Science Show and magic. Walk over to the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center, where ecologists welcome everyone to experience exhibits and marine life. A Sea Creature Parade ends the night marching down the pier trolley route to the beloved bubble stomp (pictured above).
Special buttons designed by Cecilia Lueza ($5-$12) must be purchased to get in. Button packages run through Dec. 30 and are available online; prices increase to $10-20 on New Year’s Eve. A “Friends of First Night” VIP package is $100.
The event starts Dec. 31st at 4 p.m—you know, so we can all be too tired to stay up until midnight. Follow along via @1stnightstpete on Facebook for details leading up to the event.
