Campbell will be making his American Stage debut and consistent with American Stage's casting choices he has an impressive slew of New York theater credits, including Savedat the Theatre for a New Audience and Hamlet at The Public Theater. Regional theater credits include Peter Pan and Wendy, In the Jungle of Cities, Taming of the Shrew, and Man and Superman at the American Repertory Theatre. He received his MFA from the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard and his BFA from the University of Utah.
Chicago Dramatists debuted A Steady Rain — a play about how a fateful arrests changes of the lives of two cops and lifetime friends — in 2007, and it opened for a 12-week run on Broadway in September 2009, starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman, breaking the box office record for the highest weekly gross of a non-musical production on Broadway for the week ending Sept. 20, 2009. Time listed the drama No. 2 in its Top 10 plays of 2009.
