Italians, man. They never let you forget where they come from, and this weekend one of Tampa’s most prominent paesanos is going to do a little looking back as he celebrates 12 years of Loko Cuisine.

John Loscalzo—who’s also teacher of the year at Tampa’s Brewster Technical College—runs one of the best food pop-up series in the Bay area and celebrates another anniversary with a four-course Italian buffet at one of the city’s finest breweries (the menu includes Milanese grits, fluffy EVOO eggs, limoncello French toast, and ossobuco).

BarrieHaus is also unleashing its light and crisp “Goomba” Italian pilsner to wash it all down. Tickets are only sold in advance, and include one pils (Goomba four-packs will also be available for purchase).

Tickets are $43 for Loko’s 12th anniversary brunch happening Sunday, May 18 at BarrieHaus in Ybor City.

Readers are invited to submit their own events to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay’s things to do calendar.
