Jane Goodall’s Tampa Theatre talk sold out quickly, but select students can earn free tickets to get in

There’s also a separate Florida Aquarium event the night before.

Within an hour, tickets to see Dr. Jane Goodall at Tampa Theatre this month sold-out. The March 29 talk, which coincides with the famed conservationist’s 89th birthday, was supposed to encourage attendees to value their individual impact in creating a better future for the earth and its animals.

Youth play a big part in that future, and organizers have saved room for select local students to come see Goodall speak. The students must enter into a short essay contest and will be asked for a short description (250 words) about “what you can and will do to make the world better for people, other animals and the environment.”

Responses will be read by folks at the Jane Goodall Institute, who’ll pick 50 winners, too.

And if you’re not a student, or have no great ideas about the future of the planet (kidding), you can still be inspired by Dr. Goodall when she speaks at a separate event at downtown Tampa’s Florida Aquarium on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m.

There, Goodall will share a similar message of hope while individuals will enjoy a vegetarian and vegan dinner, participate in an auction of items from the Goodall Institute archive, and also take part in a Q&A. All proceeds from the event will go to the Goodall Institute’s “mission to create a
better world for people, other animals, and the planet we share.”

Tickets for Goodall’s March 28 appearance at Florida Aquarium are still available and start at $1,000.
