Celebrate the woman who reared you (and those who helped) with a Mother’s Day gift purchased at local-centric pop-up bazaars and at a handful events off the beaten restaurant path. Here are some ideas to help jumpstart your plans:
Also on Thursday, 5-10 p.m., Seminole Heights’ Fodder and Shine will host a Pre-Mother’s Day Pop-Up Shop with Belle Fleur Studio, Commune + Co., Beard+Beauty, O’Berry’s and other cool shops. This weekend, BOGO admissions will be provided by the Tampa Bay History Center, the Florida Aquarium and Lowry Park Zoo.
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, located by downtown Tampa's scenic RiverWalk, will be celebrating Mother’s Day by offering free admission to mothers all day Sunday and an exclusive 2 p.m. tour led by the museum’s Executive Director, Zora Carrier, PhD.
If you’re seeking non-restaurant dining, Yacht Starship is setting sail with a brunch cruise ($49.95) and the Museum of Fine Arts will serve a two-course prix fixe meal for $33, or a three-course for $39.
Hyde Park Village is hosting a Mother’s Day Celebration for moms of children and fur babies. The Saturday event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offers discounts, giveaways and activities for both children and dogs. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will be onsite for aspiring fur-mamas and -daddies. Professional photos are available for children and pooches with a small donation and more. Hyde Park Village is at 1602 W. Snow Ave., Tampa. A full list of promotions can be found at the Hyde Park Village website.
Seminole Heights Summer Market at Southern Brewing: Bring mom to a scaled-down but still plentiful summertime version of the Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market.
