If you're like most people with a smartphone — but we repeat ourselves — you likely have a stunning collection of digital photographs... or, at least, a stunningly large collection of photographs.
But, seriously, how can you possibly get a handle on them all, and how can you do some basic editing as you do?
We're new fans of Adobe's Lightroom, though we admit that it helps to have someone coaching through the setup and the best ways to use all that's offered in the Lightroom toolbox. That's where Matthew Cicanese comes in.
Cicanese is a National Geographic photographer, and if his name sounds familiar, it's because he had some stunning macro shots in the recent Freshly Squeezed II show at Sy. Petersburg's Morean Arts Center. See, it's great when talented artists live locally — having Cicanese teach a class on Lightroom is one of the benefits.
It's a two-day workshop, and in it you'll learn how to organize your photo collection and also how to use the "Develop" module in the program (in Lightroom CC, the "Develop" module isn't exactly the same, so call first if you have CC and this is important to you). Participants — the workshop's limited to 12 — must have their own laptop with Lightroom already loaded.
This Is Lightroom: Workshop with Matthew Cicanese | Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave., St. Petersburg | June 30 & July 1: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. | $190; members, $170 | Register here.
