Mikey Gomez replaces Roger Bowling at XFC Evolution

While War Machine is coming off a 4-fight win streak, Gomez will most likely try to rebound from his recent loss at Bellator Fighting Championships in April. Both fighters have strong jiu jitsu as well as striking skills so this bout should be an all-out war.

The co-main event features the XFC bantamweight title fight scheduled for five rounds of five minutes each. Reigning champion Jason Goodall will defend his belt against challenger Pablo Alfonso from Miami. Both fighters are yet undefeated, so one of them will have to take his first loss. This match should be interesting since Goodall is a knockout artist while Alfonso is a submission specialist. Ultimately, it will come down to who can impose his will first.

The entire event will be broadcast live on HDNet nationwide. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster. Type in the password "XTREME" for a $10-discount. Tickets start at $5 after discount is applied.

Former Elite XC fighter Mikey Gomez replaces Roger "Relentless" Bowling in the main event of the upcoming Xtreme Fighting Championship (XFC) fight card Evolution on Sept.5 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. Adding a sense of deja vu, this is the second time Bowling forfeits his chance to fight War Machine due to a pre-fight injury.

Gomez will face off against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 6 finalist, War Machine, a.k.a. Jon Koppenhaver.
