Finishing off her MFA with her thesis show in 2016 at USF CAM, I can still recall her confronting figures to this day. Now at Gallery 3 at HCC on Hillsborough, Princess Smith’s solo show will continue her explorations of the minority female body and racial social injustices through new drawings and paintings. Favoring a highly chromatic palette, Smith’s paintings will fight off the winter blues — and even pack a more conceptual punch too.
