He's still regarded for his work there, but people also know Rock for his hard-hitting comedy specials (Bring the Pain, Bigger and Blacker), his acting roles and his biographical television show, Everybody Hates Chris.
Unfortunately, he's not known for extensive touring, so seeing him live has been pretty tough over the past decade. That will change when he kicks off his Total Blackout Tour next year, with a stop at The Straz on April 14.
So why do you need to know now? Because tickets go on sale Friday, and they'll go fast. With just one theater show on the books, who knows when you'll get to see him next? If you want to go, log in right at 10 a.m. and hope for the best.
In the meantime, this is why it's worth your time to see him.
