Paddleboarding: Kayaking for those of us with balance. Or not. Look, it’s a lot easier to fall off these slick boards than it is to capsize a kayak, but they let you get places ‘yaks may not go. We’re not even going to mention how, when you excecute proper form, SUPing (stand up paddleboarding)- can burn 700 calories an hour (OK, you caught us, we mentioned it). The point is, it’s not only a fun sport, it’s sort of one of the most healthy things you can do on the water, and when you race? Even better. And faster. At the Suncoast Surf Shop 50th Anniversary Party, you can race your board against other amateurs. The race kicks off the day, which will include live the Mad Beach Band, giveaways and a free kids fishing tournament.
